Connect your store

The template ships with an enquiry list and an optional Shopify cart. Both work out of the box in demo mode. Follow these five steps to send buyers to your own Shopify checkout. Nothing here needs a paid plan.

Step 1

Create a free development store

Open a Shopify Partner account and add a development store. It costs nothing and is enough to test the full flow.

Step 2

Import the twelve works

In Shopify, go to Products, Import, and upload products.csv from the template’s shopify folder. Handles match the CMS slugs, vendors are the artists, and the three “Price on request” works import as drafts.

Step 3

Link each work

Copy each product’s numeric variant ID into the Artworks field “Shopify variant ID”. Works without an ID stay enquiry-only. With a public Storefront token on the Cart drawer you can skip this: the cart finds the variant from “Shopify handle”.

Step 4

Point the cart at your store

Open the layout template, select “Cart drawer” and set “Store domain” to your-store.myshopify.com. Choose a shop mode on the drawer and on the add buttons: Enquiry only, Shopify cart, or Both.

Step 5

Publish and test

Add a work to the cart and press “Checkout on Shopify”. You land on your store’s checkout with the same works and quantities. A development store asks visitors for its password first; that goes away on a paid Shopify plan.

Receive enquiries from the panel

The enquiry panel sends the listed works, the contact details and the answers to its quick questions as one JSON POST. Select “Cart drawer” in the layout template and paste a URL into “Form endpoint”: a Formspree or Basin form, a Make or Zapier webhook, or your own API. With no endpoint the panel runs in demo mode and sends nothing. Edit, add or remove the questions in the same place; separate options with a vertical bar.

Three shop modes

Enquiry only

Visitors collect works on a list and send it with the contact form. Nothing external is called. Best for galleries that sell by conversation.

Shopify cart

Works with a variant ID get “Add to cart”. The drawer totals the cart and sends the buyer to Shopify checkout through a cart link.

Both

Priced works can be bought; “Price on request” works go on the enquiry list. One drawer holds both. This is the template default.

Need live stock, variants and discounts?

The built-in cart is deliberately small. For a full store with synced products, use a Shopify plugin for Framer: Shopiframe is free to explore with its demo store and a one-time fee to publish on your own domain; Frameship is a one-time licence per site. Prices on this site come from the CMS, so keep them equal to your store.
