Why sculpture needs to be walked around
A photograph gives you one side of a work. Our senior curator on what the other sides are for.
Every sculpture in the gallery has a front only because a photographer chose one.
Walk around Fold III and the outline changes completely every few steps; it is closer to a piece of music than to an image.

We hang less and leave more floor than we used to, for exactly this reason.
